The recap

A powerful day of Self-Belief in East London

The second stop of Lihle’s 100K Teens Self-Belief Conference brought learners together at Ebenezer Majombozi High School in Gompo, East London, on 31 July 2026. The day was filled with energy, encouragement and honest conversations about academic excellence, perseverance, leadership and the importance of believing in yourself.

Lihle connected with the learners as a fellow young person, sharing her journey and reminding them that their age, circumstances and background should never limit the size of their dreams. Through her message and motivational quotes, she encouraged every learner to protect their self-belief, increase their effort when challenges arise and remain committed to their goals.

The conference featured an inspiring group of speakers, each bringing a different perspective and powerful personal journey:

Sibabalwe Ndabazandile returned to his former school, Ebenezer Majombozi High School, after achieving seven distinctions in the Class of 2024. Now studying Actuarial Science at the University of the Witwatersrand, he showed learners how discipline, hard work and the right mindset can lead to academic excellence, regardless of where they come from.

Letsweletse Ngwako shared his remarkable journey from rural Botswana to representing his country at the United Nations. His message demonstrated how self-belief, perseverance and servant leadership can open doors, while reminding learners that their background does not define their future.

Zimkhitha Khumalo , a Top 10 learner, academic content creator and study influencer, shared practical study techniques, motivation and confidence-building strategies that have helped her maintain an average above 70% and succeed academically.

Phemelo Pearl Minja , a certified life coach, researcher, author and youth development advocate with more than 15 years of experience, encouraged learners to recognise their potential and confidently pursue their dreams.

The speakers’ stories made the message of the conference practical and relatable. Learners were not only encouraged to dream bigger but were also given useful tools to improve their study habits, strengthen their confidence and take greater responsibility for their futures.

The East London conference continued the growing movement launched in Mthatha, injecting self-belief, igniting young people’s dreams and showing teenagers that, with determination and consistent effort, their possibilities are limitless.
